The apparatus contains 10 individual chambers with gas inflows and two independent perifusate lines. Slices are located in small stainless steel screen baskets suspended over perifusate collection vessel. The perifusion chambers and the perifusate are temperature controlled and the perifusion lines are gravity fed and small orifice controled (hypodermic needles). This apparatus is not intended for routine slice incubation and has been developed for stimulated hormone release experiments using tissue slices.
